The Best Drugstore Lip Liners! - NYX Slim Lip Pencils Review + Swatches

NYX Slim Lip Pencils Review + Swatches

It's probably no secret that I am hopelessly obsessed with lip products, especially lipstick. Since I am a self-proclaimed lipstick hoarder who loves to overdraw her lips, I obviously need to own a fair amount of lip liners.

I own lip liners from pretty much every brand out there: Urban Decay, MAC, Rimmel, Maybelline, Jordana, Kat Von D, etc. Even though my high end brand lip liners are all amazing, I find myself gravitating towards one certain brand: NYX. Their Slim Lip Pencils especially have become my favorite lip liners above all the other ones in my collection.

NYX Slim Lip Pencils Review + Swatches
Top to Bottom: Plum, Hot Red, Fuchsia, Dolly Pink, Mahogany, Pale Pink
The best part about these lip liners, besides the formula, is the price. One of these lip liners from Ulta is only $3.49 compared to a MAC lip pencil at $16 (that's over 4x the price of one NYX liner)!

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows Review + Swatches

Colourpop Review & Swatches
If you keep up with any online beauty community, you have probably heard of Colourpop Cosmetics. Colourpop Cosmetics is an online company that has absolutely gorgeous products for super affordable prices. By affordable, I mean I got 8 crazy-pigmented eyeshadows for only $30 (with their $5 newsletter coupon, free shipping, and their limited edition birthday shadow for free).

Each of their super shock eyeshadows, lippie stix, and lippie pencils are only $5 each. Their blushes, bronzers, and highlighters are only $8 a piece. I've only ever tried their eyeshadows but I've heard nothing but amazing things about all of their other products.

Plus, like I mentioned earlier, if you sign up for their newsletter you get $5 off your first purchase and all shipping for orders over $30 is always free.

Colourpop Review & Swatches

Packaging
All of their orders come in a nicely packaged box with the "Colourpop" logo on it. Everything was packaged very securely as well so nothing arrived damaged. Each order comes with a cute handwritten note too which is such an adorable and personal touch!

Texture & Application
The texture for these eyeshadows is so strange!! It's not a powder...not really a cream...it feels almost like a mousse but applies like a powder? I don't even know how to explain it, it's so strange. They are so incredibly soft, creamy, and apply like a dream/ They blend out so effortlessly as well; I am totally in love with them and can't wait to order more shades.
Colourpop Birthday Girl Swatch
Shade: Birthday Girl (limited edition)

Shades
Colourpop's Super Shock eyeshadows come in a bunch of different finishes. They come in: Satin, Matte, Metallic, Ultra Metallic, Pearlized, and Pressed Pigments. I purchased mainly matte shades, 1 ultra metallic, and 2 metallic shades.
Colourpop Review & Swatches

Colourpop Liberty Swatch
Crease: Bill | Outer V/browbone: Naked 2 Palette | Lid: Liberty

I think my favorite shade that I purchased definitely has to be Liberty. It is such a beautiful true silver that applies like a dream.

My final thoughts and Review
Colourpop Cosmetics get two huge thumbs up for me. Not only are they brilliant shadows but they are actually affordable. For only $5 you get pigmentation and blendability just as good as all of my MAC and higher end shadows. I can't wait to buy more and add to my Colourpop collection!

Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Huge range of colors/finishes
  • Very blendable and creamy
  • Super pigmented
Cons:
  • Can only buy online

Have you ever tried any colourpop shadows? What are your favorites/must haves from Colourpop?

How to get Bigger "Kylie Jenner" Lips + Affordable Dupes

How to get bigger Kylie Jenner lips

First off, before we get into today's post, let me apologize for the lack of posts this last week. I have really bad tonsillitis and an infection in my throat so I have been down and out on medication and haven't gotten out of bed. I'm finally starting to feel better though (thank god) so I finally had the energy to get up and make a post! So...let's get on to how I overdraw my lips!

I know I'm totally the last person on earth to address this topic but...I love over lining my lips. Overdrawing your lips has especially become popular during the last few months because of Kylie Jenner.

Kylie finally admitted to having lip injections in one of the last episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians (big surprise, right...) but I still love how she draws her lips in general. Her signature 90's browny-nude color is to die for!

Now, I don't have thin lips by any means but my lower lip is definitely bigger than my top lip. I love to overdraw my top lip so my lips become more even and full. I feel like it adds a lot more balance to my face and it just looks awesome, in my opinion!

Plus, overdrawing your lips is actually really easy and only requires a few products.

How to get bigger Kylie Jenner lips

All we need for the perfect overdrawn, "Kylie Jenner" lip is two lipsticks and a lip liner.
We're going to need a brown toned nude, a lighter nude, and a brown-nude lip liner.

I used MAC's Velvet Teddy but two good affordable dupes would be Wet n Wild's Bare it All or Rimmel's Mauve It Over. I also used MAC's Naturally Eccentric (a limited edition color) but any basic light nude, or even a concealer, would work!

For my lip liner I used Rimmel's Exaggerate liner in Addiction - a close dupe to MAC's Whirl or MAC's Soar.

How to get bigger Kylie Jenner lips

Step 1: Start out by having moisturized and exfoliated clean lips. We're going to be using a few products so we don't want our lipstick to stick to dry lips.
Step 2:
Take your dark brown-nude lip liner and line your lips. Instead of lining right on your lip line, try to line right above it. This will create an illusion of fuller lips.
Step 3:
After outlining your lips, take your lip pencil and draw three vertical lines on your lower lip. This will give the illusion of a pouter, "split" lip (like Angelina Jolie!). You can also line the inside of your top lip to create more depth.
Step 4:
Next, take your brown-nude lipstick and apply it all over both your lips up to the new lip line that we created.
Step 5:
Last, take either your concealer or your lighter nude lipstick and apply it to the center of your lips. This will give an illusion of light hitting your lips which makes them look fuller! Kylie's famous lip look doesn't have a lighter color in the center but for us thinner lipped people, it helps make them look more full!

And that's it! The easy way to getting full, plump lips without lip injections!

What do you guys think about Kylie Jenner's famous lips? Love them or hate them?

My Top 5 Favorite Movies

Okay, I love watching movies and I love (almost) every kind of movie too. Anything from depressing, heart-wrenching romance movies to action to classic black and white films (I even love corny Jaws knock-off movies). Basically it takes a lot for me to actually not enjoy a movie. I can pretty much find a redeemable feature in all of them be the soundtrack, cinematography, or a few lines I loved from the script.

I'm always super interested to know what other people's favorite movies are because I'm always on the hunt for new ones to add to my "must watch" list. I feel like I've gotten to the point where I've seen every movie worth seeing which makes me really sad.

So down below is a list of my top 5 favorite movies as of May 2015, in no particular order. This list was so hard to narrow down but I think I got it down to some really good ones!

May 2015 Ipsy Glam Bag Unboxing

May Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Finals week is almost over.
So you know what that means? I'm finally going to be able to upload regularly again! I have been feeling so awful that I haven't been able to post as often as I would like. I have just been so unbelievably busy preparing for finals. But, my few weeks of hell are almost over so be ready for a ton of posts from me!

So I went to my mailbox this morning and I finally got my May Ipsy Glam Bag!
Ipsy is a subscription service that sends you full sized and samples of beauty/skincare products each month in a cute reusable bag. The price for Ipsy each month is $10, which I think is an amazing deal!
The main thing that annoys me about Ipsy is that I always get mine near the end of the month. It's not that big of a deal but I'm really impatient.

Morphe Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette Review + Swatches

Morphe Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette Review
It's time! It's finally here! After months of waiting for Morphe to restock this palette, I finally have my claws on it and I am not letting it go.

Just in case any of you didn't know, this limited edition palette was created in collaboration by the cosmetics brand Morphe Brushes and beauty Youtuber Jaclyn Hill. Jaclyn Hill has been one of my favorite beauty Youtubers for the past year or so. She is so personable, gorgeous, and all of her makeup looks are to die for (she is basically the queen of warm eyeshadow looks)! So I knew as soon as I heard about this palette that I needed it in my life.

Tip Tuesday: How to get Deodorant Stains out of Clothes

Hi friends! So today is kind of exciting, I decided to start a new segment on my blog called "Tip Tuesday" where I share little fashion/beauty tips and tricks with you all. I'll be sharing super easy tips that will hopefully help you with all those little annoying things that happen to us beauty and fashion wise.

So let's get on to the first ever Tip Tuesday!

I'm sure I'm not that only one who has had this happen: you put on your favorite black top, look at your outfit in the mirror before leaving for the day, and see huge white streaks all over your shirt. Obviously you can't just throw your shirt in the washer if you're dashing out the door, so what can you do besides changing your shirt?

Luckily, there is actually a really quick and easy way to get those stubborn deodorant stains out of your clothes without having to wash them! When I used to do threatre in high school, we used to get deodorant on all of our costumes so we had to learn how to quickly get them out backstage. All you need is either a pair of nylons or a dryer sheet.

Step 1. Take off your shirt/dress and lay it down flat with the deodorant stain facing up
Step 2. Grab a pair of nylons or a dryer sheet
Step 3. Rub the deodorant stain with the nylons/dryer sheet until the stain lifts off (generally around a minute or less)
Step 4. Wear your black shirt with pride now that there are no more deodorant marks!
to use dryer sheets!).

I like to keep a dryer sheet folded away in my purse just in case I notice some deodorant on my shirt during the day. It's a simple trick that is such a lifesaver!

What are your quick and easy fashion/beauty tips?

Miniature Beauty Haul ft. Kat Von D, Elf, Loreal, ect.

Happy Tuesday, friends! How has your week been going so far? Hopefully you all have been doing well. I'm in a pretty good mood today; the sun is out, I just ate some mint chocolate chip ice cream, and I bought some new makeup yesterday! (You know you're addicted to makeup when buying it makes you really happy...)

I visited Target and Sephora yesterday on my day off from work and (of course) left with a few things. I didn't buy too much, though, and was able to semi-restrain myself. I'm really happy with the few items I bought as I've been wanting to buy them for a while.

1. Loreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray - I have heard Tati from GlamLife Guru talk about this over and over in her videos. She says that it's the best drugstore makeup setting spray that she has ever used so I had to go buy it. I'm in the market for a good makeup setting spray so I can't wait to see how this one works out for me.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 fair - Cue the best concealer that you can find at the drugstore. It's so creamy, pigmented, and covers any spots and dark circles so well. This is a staple in my everyday makeup routine and a forever repurchase!

3. Covergirl Tru Blend Fixstick in deep - This is a concealer stick that I used to use for contouring around a year ago. I really love the consistency and it helps my contouring powder stay on all day so I'm excited to start using this again.

4. Elf High Definition Undereye Setting Powder - I've heard that this is supposed to be a brightening undereye powder and a dupe for the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder ($3 vs $24!!). I'm very curious as to whether or not this product actually helps bright the undereyes since I have fairly prominent dark circles.

5. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in L.U.V - After months of hearing rave reviews about these liquid lipsticks, I finally picked one up from Sephora for $20. The color I bought is called L.U.V and it's a beautiful bright violet color. I'm super excited to wear this in the spring and summer time!

Have you bought any makeup items recently? Leave me a comment down below with what you have purchased lately!

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review + Swatches

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review

Hi my lovelies!
How are you guys doing today? It's a beautiful day here in Northern California; the sun is finally shining after a weird thunderstorm that blew in. Plus, yesterday I bought a plane ticket to go to Kauai in October!! If you didn't know, Kauai is my absolute favorite place in the entire world. I'm lucky enough to have a family condo there in Kapaa so I'm able to visit fairly cheaply. I'm super happy to be going back, even if I do have to wait for six months.

Anyway! On to what this post is actually about. A few weeks ago I saw an advert on Youtube for the new Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom lipsticks. The model in the advert was wearing an absolutely stunning lilac lipstick. If you guys didn't know, I dyed my hair purple about two weeks ago so I've recently become obsessed with purple lipstick. I wish I was kidding but within the last two weeks I've purchased 4 new purple lipsticks...4. 4 purple lipsticks in 2 weeks

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review

Since I'm a lisptick addict, of course I didn't just purchase the lilac color from the advert, but four out of the ten shades! I got mine at Target for around $6 each.
I bought the shades Power Peony, Lilac Flush, Orchid Ecstasy, and Coral Burst.

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review

Lets talk about the formula and packaging! The packing for these lipsticks is a typical Maybelline Color Burst lipstick: the chrome tube with a semi-clear colored bullet. The bottom of the lipsticks has a handy swatch of the relative color of each lipstick inside.

The formula is amazing on these. They are so creamy and just slide effortlessly, while still being super pigmented, on the lips. They're all super fun, neon pastel colors that are perfect for the upcoming spring and summer season. I honestly have nothing bad to say about these except the fact that they aren't transfer proof. I was wearing the Lilac Flush color the other day and it came off on my boyfriend's lips really easily when I kissed him goodbye. Otherwise I give these two huge thumbs up!

Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review

As you can tell from my arm swatches, these are super bright and pigmented!
I also swatched them on my lips so you could see how the color differs when applied on, rather than just a swatch.
Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review - Power Peony
#720 Power Peony - Bright barbie pink
Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review - Lilac Flush
#725 Lilac Flush - Blue-based bright lilac purple
Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review - orchid Ecstasy
#730 Orchid Ecstasy - Neon fuchsia purple
Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick Review - Coral Burst
#740 Coral Burst - Neon pinky-coral

My final thoughts and Review:
I absolutely love these lipsticks. The colors are so fun, bright, and perfect for the warmer seasons. They're incredibly creamy and pigmented too! Plus, they're super affordable and the range of colors isn't bad. I would highly recommend purchasing any of these lipstick colors if you're in the market for some fun, bright lipstick shades!
Pros:
  • Fun, pigmented colors
  • Very creamy
  • Inexpensive
  • Nice range of colors
Cons:
  • Transfers easily
Rate: 5/5

What are going to be your go-to lip colors for the spring/summer? Leave a comment down below if there's any fun summer lipstick lipstick shade you think I need to try!

How I Got Rid of My Dry Skin - Neutrogena Hydro Boost Review

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Review
If you guys didn't know, I have pretty dry skin. I've dealt with some form of dry skin pretty much my whole life. With the seasons changing really fast here in Northern California, my skin has been absolutely awful the past weeks. I'm talking those dry, flaky patches that make your makeup look bad no matter what you do or what you moisturize with. I pretty much tried every moisturizer out there and nothing worked. Even those heavy duty moisturizing creams weren't helping and I tried a few of them (Ponds, CeraVe, and Olay).

About a week ago (cue music), I was at Target with my boyfriend and I saw a little display for the new Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizing gel. Honestly, I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to these gimmicky type products but I was at a point of sheer desperation so I decided to purchase them. I got the Hydro Boost Gel-Cream for Extra Dry Skin for $19.99 and the Hydro Boost Gel-Eye Cream for $17.99.

How You Can Buy Lush Cheaper Online!

How to buy Lush cheaper

Hi my lovelies! I feel like it's been so long since I posted. The past week has been crazy busy for me so I apologize for the lack of posts!

Anyway, today I have a really exciting post for you all! Now, I don't know about you guys but I am absolutely obsessed with Lush Cosmetics. The downside to Lush, though, is that they're really expensive. Paying $6 for a one time use bath bomb is absolutely crazy when you think about it. (But of course I still do it because I'm addicted). Their bath bombs are my personal favorite because they make your bath water feel like silk and look so beautiful. They're the perfect treat to put an end to a stressful day.

So I have a friend who is currently living in Europe and he told me a little secret about buying lush online: if you live in the United States, buy your Lush from the UK site because it will be cheaper (even with shipping overseas)!

Let me take you on a little adventure to both Lush sites so I can show you how you can buy it cheaper!

H&M Cosmetics Review + Full Face Tutorial

Ive said it once and I'll say it again, I'm pretty obsessed with H&M. It definitely doesn't help that I'm there everyday because I work there. (It takes tremendous willpower to not spend my entire paycheck in the store whenever I receive it).  Anyway, for some reason, in the year that I've been working at H&M I've never tested out their makeup. So last week I finally decided it was time to put the H&M cosmetics to the test! I bought everything needed for a full face of makeup including brushes (besides foundation and concealer because they don't sell any).

Instead of just swatching all the products I got, I thought I would do a full face demo/tutorial as well so you can actually see what they look like on the skin! I used my normal foundation routine for this (if you'd like a post on how I do my foundation routine just comment down below) and I personally think it turned out really nicely!

Presley's Beauty Wishlist #1

I feel like recently a lot of makeup brands have been releasing a lot of amazing products. Well most of these aren't brand new but hey, they're new to me! These are my top 5 beauty items that I've been completely lusting over for the past month.

Zoeva Complete Brush Set - $135.00: Let's be real, you can (almost) never have enough makeup brushes, especially eyeshadow brushes. I for one am super lazy and hate cleaning makeup brushes so I always love to have extras on hand. I have makeup brushes from pretty much every brand out there: Real Techniques, Mac, Sigma, Bare Minerals, Sonia Kashuk, ect. but I haven't found my "holy grail" brush brand yet. I've been hearing so much about Zoeva brushes lately and I've been really wanting to give them a try. They're so pretty and look super soft!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - $38.00: I have never really been into the whole highlighting thing until very recently. I've always been the type of girl who just puts on bronzer and is out the door. Since I've been wanting to get more into highlighting, I've been looking at so many highlighters from every brand. This Becca highlighter seems to be the main one that people are recommending and I can see why, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I love the color and apparently the formula is amazing as well so I'd love to give this one a try.

Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette - $46.00: This one barely even needs any explanation; I'm hopelessly obsessed with contouring. I'm on a personal mission to own every contouring palette on the face of the earth.

MUJI Acylic 5-Drawers - $27.95: I have recently noticed that I own a lot of makeup. The problem is not that I have a lot of makeup but that I never wear it because it;s not organized properly. All of my makeup is in drawers under my bathroom sink and I never see any of it. I really want to get a whole acrylic storage system for all of my makeup so I can actually see and use it. Plus, I love how they look; I think acrylic storage for makeup is so pretty and classy.

Morphe Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette - $30 (Sold Out): I have been dying to get my hands on this palette for so long. Whenever they restock it I'm away at work or school and it sells out before I can order it. I love Jaclyn Hill; she's easily one of my favorite beauty youtubers because she's so just so real and personable. So of course when I heard she was releasing a palette I knew I needed it. I love how there are so many gorgeous warm colors; I just need this in my life.

What is on your beauty/fashion wishlist? Comment below with anything that you've been dying to get your hands on!

NYX Wonder Stick Review & Demo: How I Contour

NYX Wonder Stick Review & Demo
As most of you have probably noticed, contouring and highlighting is one of the biggest makeup trends happening right now (besides the "Kylie Jenner" lip, of course).Lately, NYX Cosmetics has been putting out a bunch of new amazing contouring products. I've been dying to get my hands on their Highlight & Contouring Pro Palette, but it's been sold out of my Ulta for weeks now. So until I can finally purchase that, it's my goal to try out all their other contouring products!

Personally, I've always been super into the bronzed look so I'm all for the contouring bandwagon! Not to mention that I have chronic baby-face syndrome so I look like I'm 15 unless I have some contouring going on.

The new NYX Wonder Stick is a one-stop-shop contouring stick. One side has a dark contouring shade and the other has a highlighting shade. The consistency really reminds me of the Loreal concealer sticks (which are also amazing for contouring!) and is really easy to blend into the skin without looking cakey.

H&M x Coachella Collection: Haul + First Look!

Hi lovelies!

Most of you probably don't know but I actually work at H&M! So basically, I'm guilty of spending way too much money there. Anyway, on March 19th H&M is releasing their Coachella collection in stores! (the online release is on March 26th). Since I work at H&M, I was lucky enough to buy my favorite pieces a few days early.

The H&M x Coachella collection is really cool because it's the only true collaboration with Coachella and another clothing brand. All the items in this collection are fun and bohemian with bright tribal prints, fringe, and gorgeous lace. Plus, everything is super affordable with a price range from around $6-$50. All the pieces in this collaboration are perfect for the upcoming summer/festival season so of course, I just had to buy a few.

Rimmel Provocalips 16Hr Kissproof Lip Colour: Review + Swatches

Rimmel Provocalips Review
Hi my lovelies!

So for the past few weeks, all I’ve been hearing and reading about is the new Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hr Kissproof Lip Colours. Since I am a self-proclaimed lipstick addict, obviously I couldn’t resist buying all the available shades at my local drugstore last week!
What made these new lip colors stand out to me so much is that Rimmel markets these as a “Kiss proof, transfer proof, and food proof” lip color. Now ladies, I’m pretty sure most of you can agree with me that one of the worst things about lipstick is getting it all over your coffee mug/significant other/dog’s forehead…Somehow I manage to get it on everyone and everything. Plus, I rarely have the time to check up on my lip color while I’m in class or at work. So having a long-wearing lipstick is something I’m always on the hunt for.

I'm baaaack

Hey there, it's been awhile...almost two years to be exact. A lot has gone on since I started this blog. I felt it was right to delete all my old posts and start again. I hope you're all excited and ready to (re)start this journey with me. If you all would like to stay updated with The Perks of Being Presley, then go Follow my blog with Bloglovin
